What is a BRANZ Appraisal?
BRANZ Appraisal Certificates are comprehensive independent assessments of building products and systems for Building Code compliance and fitness for purpose. BRANZ experts develop criteria for an appraisal based on the NZBC (New Zealand Building Code) and/or the BCA96 (Building Code of Australia). Expert technical opinions, testing and all other information are measured against these criteria. Technical literature, practicality of installation and maintenance as well as the manufacturing quality control processes are also assessed. BRANZ continues to monitor the product or system with regular checks in light of new developments and changing codes and standards.
